How to report an incident
- Crime in progress or emergency: call 911.
- Non-emergency: call SLMPD at 314-231-1212.
- Some incident types can be reported online — see slmpd.org for current options and official crime statistics.
- This site reports data; it is not a reporting channel. Nothing submitted here reaches the police.
Camera registry
The committee keeps a private registry of residents willing to check their cameras after an incident. The registry lives in a committee-held document. It is never published, never shared outside the committee, and no camera locations appear anywhere on this site. To add your camera, contact the safety committee (contact details will be posted here soon).
Requesting camera footage
If an incident occurred near you and you'd like nearby camera footage checked, ask the safety committee (contact details will be posted here soon) (a request form is coming soon). The committee contacts registered camera hosts on your behalf and logs every request. Please do not ask neighbors for footage directly or share footage of neighbors — routing requests through the committee protects both hosts and requesters.
What this site will never show
Neighborhood alert platforms are documented to amplify fear and enable profiling. This hub is built to inform without doing either:
- Locations are block-level only (for example, "46XX KOSSUTH AVE") — never an exact address or coordinates.
- We never publish suspect descriptions or victim information.
- Only verified SLMPD incident data is used — no resident-submitted reports, no unconfirmed sightings.
- Plain factual language: dates, blocks, and categories, without commentary.
These rules are enforced by an automated check that blocks publication if any output violates them.
